Garrard Chapel Food Pantry
This year 2009 we had a very good year for Clothe-A-Child.
All year we did rummage sales. Sharon made taco's and taco salads and we had car washes.And with all the donations for people
giving new clothes,toys,we had enough clothes for anyone who wanted them. I wrote this letter to the Editor of the Spencer
Evening World. To say thank you to all.
Dear Editor
As Committee Chairman of Garrard Chapel Church's Cloth-A- Child program,I would like to issue our sincere
appreciation to all the volunteers who gave not only their time,but also their love. With the help of Patricksburg
Elementary School,we were able to provide twenty-seven children with clothes,boots,shoes,and toys this Christmas season.
the children were given letters to take home and have their parents fill out,letting
us know what they needed. And thanks to the generous peoplewho gave us donations of new clothes,monetary gifts,and gentle
used clothes,we were able to give every family who came to our food pantry not only clothes,but shoes and toys for their
children. We did this each Wednesday during the two weeks leading up to Christmas. Everyone who came to our food pantry
was able to get clothes,shoes and a toy for each child thet had.We also had adult clothes,coats,etc so that everyone was able
to get something,plus we bagged up candy for the kids. We were also able to donate new and used clothes to other
churchs so that they too could help others. We were truly blessed. I want to say thank you to all the wonderful
people who made Christmas very special for so many. God bless you all.

This year was a very good year for us. Now we start working all over again to make this year of 2010 even
better.
