| Garrard Food Pantry's Caring Hearts |
The food pantry is run by volunteers. We are so thankful to be able to do what we can to serve the
Lord and to help people in need of food. The pantry is located on Hwy.46 in western Owen County. Year after year the number
of families we serve has continued to increase, making it more difficult to keep our pantry stocked. We need help and we know
if it is possible you will help us and your community. We are in need of monetary and non-perishable donations. We can provide
a 501-c3 for your convenience. We can also make arrangements to pick up donations. To donate please contact our Pantry
Director Marilyn Hill at Garrard Chapel 812-859-4244 or you can call Brenda Cox Assistant Director at
812-828-9378 or E-mail me at brenda378@att.net I will be more than happy to talk to you. To make it convenient we also have paypal.

Well we had a huge car wash and a 3 day rummage sale for clothe-a-child. We also had Sharon making taco's
and taco salads for sale. It was hard work but it was worth it because we made alot for the kids. And we just did a car wash
at Wal-mart where Sharon,Merle,Linda, and myself had to jump in there and wash cars because we were short on help.
I think people felt sorry for us old ladys in the heat yelling car wash, car wash. We did live over that one but we were all
sunburnt and wore out. Once again we did very good and the best part is that Wal-mart is going to match what we took in. I
don't have the pictures back yet but when I do I will put them on the site. I do have one of Sharon the day she made all the
taco's. Coming up in May 6,7,8, we are having a 3 day rummage sale. But this time I am bringing my horse Lady.
She will be there to help get dontations that we will donate to help save many more horses and ponys from abuse
and starvation. This is one of my on going projects that I believe in with all my heart. To many horses, ponies, dogs, cats,
are abused everyday right here in our county. We must do what we can to feed them and find them a good home. I have 2 adoped
kittens, and a adoped horse and I love them all. I can not imagine anyone not wanting them. I will continue to try and feed
the people with our food pantry, clothe the children with all the money we take in do to donations, rummage sales, etc. And
also I will do my best to help where I can for animal rescue. I have a new horse her name is Lady. She will be
at our yard sales, etc to teach the kids about animals. The children will be able to ride her,pet her,and feed her and
to learn from her.

Comments From Volunteers
It really makes my day on the days I work at Garrard food pantry. It is great to be able to help ones
in need. Linda
The food pantry has helped my husband and I and my daughter and her family. When I first came here
I met the nicest group of Christains to fellowship with. I've always wanted to do volunteer work, so this is what God
had put in my heart. Kay
I have always loved to help others in need as I have been there to many times myself. I don't have alot
moneywise, but my love for people and with the help of my lord I have been able to do things I never thought
possible. I prayed to God and asked him to please show me the way, show me what I can do to help others and he answered those
prayers for me....Brenda
